B2B specialty food marketplace The Good Trends Inc., announces the launch this week of its “Pop Up Pantry.”
New York, United States – April 3, 2020 —
The Good Trends Inc., a B2B specialty food marketplace, announces the launch this week of its “Pop Up Pantry”, a new venture aiming to bring locally sourced and healthy packaged foods directly to apartment communities across the Greater New York City area during the Covid crisis.
The start-up wholesale platform is already providing a marketplace for over 100 local brands and helping food retailers and their customers across the tri-state area to discover, try, and buy local and healthy foods. Co-founder and CEO, Victor Mithouard, says “the creation of the Pop-Up Pantry is an exciting way for us to continue our mission during these challenging times. We are providing a vital economic lifeline to our community of artisanal food makers and providing fresh, healthy food options to families in lockdown across the region.”
The Pop-Up Pantry allows apartment community managers to delight their residents with 24/7, self-serve food retail kiosks in their buildings. Running on a trust basis and featuring the intuitive Square POS payment system, the Pop Up Pantry offers a wide selection of The GoodTrends’ top-selling and up and coming brands. With the safety and wellbeing of staff and customers being the company’s top priority, Mithouard emphasizes that all The Good Trends staff involved in the set-up and maintenance of this amenity wear gloves and masks, and wipes and hand sanitizer are provided for residents’ convenience.
The Good Trends provides everything from the shelves, to the POS, to the products themselves, taking care of delivery, training and maintenance. “All the building manager has to do is oversee occasional restocking from the supplies we provide,” explains Co-Founder and Chief Development Officer, Julien Fisch. He goes on, “This project is a win-win for everybody: our cottage industry producers still have somewhere to sell their products; residents don’t have to face the shops or worry about food deliveries; and the apartment managers are opening up a new revenue stream.”
The concept goes “live” this week with a pilot in Jersey City, and has plans to roll-out quickly across the metropolitan area to capture the urgent need for this kind of service. Mithouard summarizes, “We are all in this crisis together and we all need to support each other through it.
For us, this means continuing to give consumers access to exciting food brands that bring moments of happiness to their lives.”
