Montebello, CA – Masks Can Help is pleased to announce it is helping to support frontline workers and essential businesses during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Masks Can Help is a US-based clothing factory with over 10 years of experience in the industry. Like many clothing companies in the Los Angeles area, Masks Can Help has repurposed its factory to begin making face masks to support frontline and essential workers during this unprecedented time.
“When we got the call from Los Angeles Mayor, Eric Garcetti, to repurpose our clothing factory to create face masks, we quickly decided it was 100% the right thing to do for our community,” says founder of Masks Can Help, Jim Lee. “We understand that essential workers are our first line of defense against the virus and they are in desperate need of personal protective equipment. Alas, we are doing our part to manufacture as many face masks as possible to support these heroes.”
In recent news, the company has announced they were able to work with a local Congressman’s office to supply 150,000 disposable masks to a medical group in Orange County, California. This much-needed supply of masks was greatly appreciated by the local government, and by the frontline workers they supported.
“It was very rewarding to help support these healthcare workers with 150,000 of our washable face masks,” says Lee. “The feedback and gratitude we received was very humbling for us, and it provided us with an even greater determination to do our part for our local communities.”
Currently, Masks Can Help is designing, developing, and manufacturing washable face masks with PM2.5 filters. These filters include a 5-layer filter protection system using activated carbon. Users can choose to purchase filters directly from the company, or choose to use their own.
“We decided to use an activated carbon filter because of its high surface area, port structure, and high degree of surface reactivity,” states Lee. “It has been used to purify, dechlorinate, deodorize, and decolorize both liquid and vapor applications.”
