The new services take into consideration current health guidelines to practice social distancing. Instead of waiting outside the café for one’s order, they can now conveniently choose their meals in advance and pick up their order at their preferred time or have it delivered by a local service.
Hidden Gem began as the brainchild of Chef Shimar A. Mitchell. He explains that there was so much more to fine dining than just great food. Believing that eating out should be an experience in itself, he decided to create a hidden enclave in the heart of Southfield.
The restaurant was designed to be a vibrant oasis where elegant lights and the beat of the music meet the beauty of pageantry. Before the current health guidelines, it regularly held live jazz sessions for its customers.
When restaurants were told to no longer accept dine-in customers due to the pandemic, the catering service didn’t stay out of action for long. Chef Shimar decided to open his restaurant for delivery and carryout. Offering its fusion cuisine for families looking to bring home a taste of the divine, Hidden Gem accepts catering for all sorts of occasions, from birthday parties to graduation parties to even just a romantic night out.
Aside from its fusion cuisine delivery and takeout, it also offers private party reservations, which can be made up to six weeks in advance. A cancellation fee of $150 will be applied if the appointment is canceled within 24 hours of the intended date. There is also a $250 fee for no-shows.
