The early years of such development became possible when Randy realized the tenement’s attention to detail, inlaid distinctive finishes, and memorabilia as remnants of lives gone by, were worthy enough to resuscitate with love to historic preservation-a project Randy knew must be undertaken through completion in order for his dream to become reality.
Creating an eight-story ode to such history under Randy’s sense and sensibility, was no fait accompli, even as the pandemic settled in country for two years. Randy took a resurgence to a new level, having made welcome additions to the hotel as a family effort, instilling in his sons and nephew, the value of a guest and a guest experience: PRICELESS.
The Blue Moon Hotel, located at 100 Orchard Street between Broome and Delancey, doesn’t just offer twenty-two rooms (including suites and penthouses), named for such noted performers as Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, The Marx Brothers, Fanny Brice, etc. What the Blue Moon does so well, is accommodate gracious living cum the vibrancy of the area’s renown vibe.
How many with visions of redeeming a property of great expectations, have been able to realize their dream, having only the best interests of the property, history and community at heart, making the hotel, if not It’s neighbors, a success. Randy Settenbrino, by patience and fortitude, created both the original Blue Moon Hotel as well as it’s post pandemic resurgence, a formidable display, and that’s no cliché.
