15/5/2019 – French video game developer and publisher Ubisoft announced today that it will be launching the fourth season of its startup accelerator program Ubisoft Entrepreneurs Lab in two locations this year.
“We are now heading into our fourth season of our startup program of Station F in Paris, and are very happy to extend the Ubisoft Entrepreneurs Lab to Singapore,” said Catherine Seys, the Startup Program Director at the Strategic Innovation Lab.
Ubisoft, known for its Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy’s video games series, said that this move is aimed at supporting and reaching out to more entrepreneurs around the world working on innovative technologies in the entertainment sector.
“Ubisoft Singapore has been established for more than 10 years, and from what we already know of the region, we are confident that its vibrant local tech ecosystem and strong talent pool are key ingredients for budding startups,” Catherine added.
The program will host the selected startups at PIXEL, an innovation space managed by the government agency Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) under the mentorship of Serge Hascoet, Chief Creative Officer at Ubisoft.
The fourth season will be offering two tracks. One in blockchain, where startups will be exploring the links between blockchain technology and entertainment. Second being related to extended entertainment, exploring innovative services that will improve entertainment experiences before, during, and after gaming sessions.
All selected startups, in both campuses, will undergo a personalized program for a duration of six months where they will be able to interact with Ubisoft experts and the firm’s international network. Startups will not only be receiving support in terms of hard tech, but also in aspects like marketing, finance, and communications.
The program will take place from September 1, 2018 to March 1, 2020 and interested candidates can put in their application here before June 30,2019.
